"Lift Up Your Eyes"

In John 4:35-38, Jesus challenges His disciples—and us—to 'lift up your eyes' and recognize that the harvest is ready now, not later. We're confronted with an uncomfortable truth: the greatest hindrance to evangelism isn't hostility from the world, but our own spiritual nearsightedness. Like the disciples who were focused on lunch while Jesus was focused on lost souls, we often become consumed with our calendars, our comfort, our preferences, and our pressures. We debate politics and culture while souls around us face eternity without God. The sermon calls us to three essential actions: correct our vision by looking beyond ourselves, recognize the moment by understanding that people around us are ready for the gospel, and respond with obedience by actually stepping into the harvest field. The challenge is beautifully practical—choose one person, write down their name, and pray for them daily this week. This isn't about saving anyone ourselves; it's about participating in what God is already doing. The woman at the well reminds us that Jesus sees readiness where we see only resistance, and that no one is too far gone for His grace. This is the hour—not someday when life slows down, but right now—to lift our eyes and see the souls God has placed in our path.
